To make full use of the Iris Engine (www.ultima-iris.de (http://www.ultima-iris.de)), the Ultima Iris staff has decided to open up a new project: "Iris Online" is the name of the next challenge for our team after finishing the Iris 3D Client for Ultima Online.
Iris Online, whose design and development will start within the next weeks, will be an RPG server environment with full modding ability. People will be able to change world and gameplay to their liking and to offer a totally new roleplaying experience to their players.
The team that will be involved in the development of the Iris-Online project and responsible for the server development of "Iris-Online" will be the staff of Sumeria, which was formerly meant to be an Ultima Online freeshard.
For the development of this exciting new project called "Iris-Online:Sumeria", we have the following current openings to fill:

Game Engine Architect
Based on Open Source UO emulators, Iris will use its own, customizable server-side game engine. This engine will have to follow solid IT design principles for robustness, performance, scalability and flexibility. For this, we need an IT architect with experience in designing client/server applications.

Server Programmers
To improve Iris`s game engine, we need programmers capable of implementing the ideas of the Game Engine Architect in an efficient way and with clean code. Experience in writing client/server applications in standard c++ is mandatory, while experience with UO emulators would be a plus.

Game Mechanics Designer
Iris offers the chance to design an all new online roleplaying game. What is basic to Iris, what is customizable by each shard? We need creative people who are willing to challenge existing concepts and design what a good online game that deserves the term "role playing" is about.
Experience in Pen&Paper roleplaying is required, preferably as a Game Master in home-made systems.

Sincerely yours,

- the Iris:Sumeria staff
